SARAH BEENY

Sarah Beeny is a business woman, broadcaster and one of the most trusted names in the world of property.

Sarah set up property development and investment companies aged just 24, along with her brother Diccon and now husband Graham Swift. A few years later she was head hunted to present the hugely successful Channel 4 show Property Ladder which then launched her career in TV and the Media. She went on to present many shows such as Double Your House for Half the Money, Help! My House is Falling Down and Renovate Don’t Relocate to name a few.

An established businesswoman, in 2003 she set up a hugely successful dating website which was pivotal in changing the UK’s attitude to online dating and then went on to set up one of the countries first online Estate Agencies

Her knowledge and passion for architectural heritage was brought to our screens in 2012, with the documentary series Sarah Beeny’s Restoration Nightmare. The show followed Sarah, Graham and their four sons in the final stages of restoring Rise Hall, a Grade 2* listed stately home, taking it from a building at risk and turning it into a successful, award winning Wedding Venue.

She actively supports Brain Tumour Research, Marie Curie, Cancer Research and Breast Cancer Now as well as being an Ambassador for the King’s Foundation. She is passionately knowledgeable about environmental issues and an advocate for engineering solutions that will help us achieve net Zero.

More recently in 2020, Sarah and her family moved from their base in London to a former 220 acre semi-derelict dairy farm in Somerset where they set about building a family home. The hit series, Sarah Beeny’s New Life in the Country continues to follow the family’s activities with the show’s highly anticipated fourth season airing in 2024 and a popular daytime spin off series that launched in 2023.

In 2022, Sarah was diagnosed with breast cancer. She decided to share her story in the hope of helping others understand how far treatment had moved on since her mother died of breast cancer when she was 10 years old.

The award winning, deeply personal documentary Sarah Beeny vs Cancer, not only highlighted how a family has to share in illness but also explored the past, present and future of breast cancer treatment in the UK. Sarah has also written regular columns for newspapers and magazines, in addition to numerous books. In 2023, Sarah published, The Simple Life which was an instant Times Best Seller, telling the story of her extraordinary life through the homes she’s lived in and reveals how things are often not as ‘simple’ as you might like them to be.

Sarah is mother to 4 boys, also known as the highly successful indie rock band, The Entitled Sons. Self confessed super fan, they have been her biggest inspiration and motivational influence to date.

Sarah’s latest project, Stokeford Studios, is a barn renovation with sustainability at the heart of the redevelopment. Sarah’s vision is to create a community arts, music, tv and film studio with the ultimate aim of supporting creative endeavours, invigorating the local economy and creating local jobs.
